Böl (“Böl”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Fuzion Consulting. This policy explains what we collect when you use the Böl iOS app and this website, why we collect it, and the controls you have.
What Böl is
Böl is a shared-expense ledger. It calculates who owes whom inside groups you create. Böl does not process payments, hold a balance, or move money between people.
Information we collect
- Account. Email address (or Apple / Google sign-in identifiers), name, optional handle, phone number, locale, preferred currency, and profile photo.
- Household data. Groups, members, expenses, split lines, settlements, activity, and payment-request notes you enter.
- Receipts. Images you attach to an expense are stored so other members can see them. Optical character recognition runs to suggest merchant, total, and date.
- Voice drafts. If you dictate an expense, the audio is sent to a speech model to draft fields. Audio is processed to produce the draft and is not kept as a voice archive.
- Device. Push-notification tokens, app version, and platform so we can deliver invites, reminders, and security notices.
- Purchases. If you subscribe to Böl+, Apple (or another store you use) confirms the receipt. We store entitlement status, product, and expiry — not your full card number.
- Support. Messages you send to support@fuzion.consulting or through in-app support, including the address you want us to reply to.
Face ID / device passcode used to unlock Böl is handled by the operating system on your device. We do not receive your biometric data.
How we use it
- Run the ledger, splits, balances, and group invites.
- Send one-time sign-in codes and product emails you request.
- Deliver notifications you enable (new expenses, settlements, invites, a single daily payment nudge).
- Provide Böl+ features you pay for and restore purchases.
- Respond to support and protect the service from abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use household expense data to train public AI models.
Who can see what
Members of a group can see expenses, splits, balances, and settlements in that group. Invites follow the privacy setting you choose in the app (who may add you). Deleted members leave the group; historical splits stay so remaining balances still add up.
Processors
We use infrastructure and vendors only as needed to operate Böl: hosting and databases, file storage for photos and receipts, email delivery, Apple In-App Purchase verification, and speech / text models for voice drafts and receipt parsing. Those providers process data on our instructions.
Retention, export, and deletion
You can request a copy of your profile, groups, expenses, and settlements from Settings. We email a download link that expires after seven days.
You can delete your account in Settings. We strip personal identifiers (email, phone, handle, avatar, name) and sign you out everywhere. Expenses you were part of remain in the group so other people’s balances still reconcile, but they are no longer linked to your details.
Children
Böl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
